Come and Sing over the years
For a number of years Hanley Voices have hosted an annual 'Come and Sing' in January organised by Lynette and Richard Duckett and attracting visiting singers from far and wide.

Hanley Voices' resident 'Come and Sing' conductor is currently Anthony Harris, a stage-performer and inspirational teacher with a passion for choral music. Anthony has returned each year by popular demand.
The 2019 'Come and Sing at Hanley Castle High School featured 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and songs from 'Phantom of the Opera'.
in 2020 - Anthony 'Ding Dong' Harris rehearsed a compilation of songs from 'Mamma Mia' followed by Lennon and McCartney's 'Yesterday'.
As of tradition the day ended with a performance to an invited audience.

in 2023 Anthony rehearsed the 'Andrew Lloyd Webber in Concert' medley with its fabulous melodies from across the composer's work.

When Hanley Voices and their friends meet Anthony Harris a lively day is on the cards ! The weather
outside was frightful but in the Hall inside all was full of sunshine - first a vocal technique session
with plenty of ‘splats’ (where have we heard of those before!!}.
Then into the music - the pulsating sounds of the 1960s' Californian beaches
then the reassuring presence of a friend when times are hard.
Finally 'Wellerman', a rough, tough New Zealand whalers’ song from the Southern ocean.
A fabulous sell-out, with over 100 singers from as far afield as Staffordshire, raised £500 for
the Hanley Castle High School Hall Improvement Fund. Well done Lynette and Richard Duckett.
